33 pages, 9 1/2 x 12 1/4 inches. This artist’s book was produced by Tom Phillips during a residency at the Carpenter Center at Harvard University in 1994. It was created for the benefit of Salman Rushdie who was in hiding at the time after being condemned to death by Islamic Fundamentalists following the publicaton of The Satanic Verses. This copy is inscibed to Robert Gardner, then director of the Carpenter Center who facilitated Phillips’ residency and the production of this book. It is number 2 in an edition of 12 and is signed by Salman Rushdie and Tom Phillips.
